SMILE Christmas Shoe Boxes for Eastern Europe.

As a church we reach out to our local communities to help bring together all the items that are needed to fill an exciting Christmas box for disadvantaged or orphaned children in many parts of Eastern Europe.

We have ladies who knit all year round to supply gloves, hats, scarves and other items such as socks. Each box contains toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, toy, notebooks, pens etc. and are collected during the months leading up to packing night!!

We then have a grand time in early October covering shoe boxes with Christmas paper and filling them with goodies according to age and gender.

Last year we packed over 100 boxes!

In October 2006 we completed about 150 Christmas Shoeboxes which were sent to SMILE in early November. We also sent extra blankets and larger knitted items with the shoe boxes to the families in Eastern Europe.
